Pros And Cons: Should You Purchase White Interior For Your New Tesla?

Tesla has become a household name since its inception. The company was founded in 2003 and now produces White Interior electric vehicles.

Over the years, Tesla has invented more and more models of new and improved electric cars. Now, their cars are some of the most sought after in the world.

Pros And Cons: Should You Purchase White Interior For Your New Tesla?

If you want to get a new Tesla, their cars come with two color options for their interior: white and black.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages, so should you purchase white interior or black interior?

Let’s take a look!

The Pros For White Interior

White interiors are always a great choice for any car. A white interior helps keep the inside clean and has a comforting look.

White also makes dirt and dust easily visible, making cleaning easier because you can clearly see where the dirt and dust is.

You can easily spot any dirt and crumbs thanks to the white interior, so you know when it’s time to clean your Tesla before you end up embarrassing yourself in front of any passengers.

After all, if you want to show off your Tesla, imagine how disappointed your passengers will be when they get into a dirty car?

Another advantage to a white interior is that it is cooler. Tesla’s glass roof panels do a great job at keeping heat out of the cabin, but a white interior does help.

White reflects rather than absorbs heat so it takes a lot longer for anything white to heat up.

This is why we tend to wear light and bright colors in the summer – wearing anything dark like a black t-shirt will only make you feel hotter and more uncomfortable.

So if you live somewhere that has lots of sunshine and high temperatures, you can say goodbye to scorching hot seats when you get in your Tesla after a long, hot day.

White interiors are also easy on the eyes. They are not only attractive but they also look good against almost all other colors.

Because most car interiors are dark colors like gray or black, your white seats will definitely make your Tesla stand out and it will definitely feel like you are sitting in a premium car.

The Cons For White Interior

Pros And Cons:
Should You Purchase White Interior For Your New Tesla?

Although there is no denying that white interior cars look cool and amazing, they do come with their own drawbacks.

White is a very light color which means that when you use white material in your car’s interior, you are more likely to leave visible stains and marks.

While most stains can be easily removed with mild soapy water, some are more difficult to remove than others.

So if you are planning on eating or drinking inside your Tesla, you should be very careful – spill one drop of coffee, and you might never get it out again.

With dark materials like black or gray, you can get away with such a stain and it could be barely noticeable. However, with white interior, every stain stands out.

Plus, white interior does really show you every bit of dirt and debris.

Although this can be an advantage so you know where to clean your interior and keep on top of its cleanliness, most of the time this issue will be a disadvantage.

You will be able to see every single crumb or dark hair, which can constantly make your Tesla’s interior feel dirty when in reality it was just cleaned.

Again, darker colors help hide this so if you don’t want to constantly feel like you need to wash your car, then you are probably better off with a different interior color.

Another downside to the white interior is that it actually costs more than a normal black interior.

Tesla’s price for a white interior is quite steep as it will cost you at least $1,000 just to swap out the color of your interior.

That’s a lot of money to pay for just a different color in the interior of your car, and you really need to consider if you like the look of a white interior so much that you are willing to spend another $1,000 to $1,500 for it alone.

The price difference does depend on the model, but with a base price of at least $1,000 alone, is it really worth it just for some white seats?

Conclusion

Opting for the white interior option for your Tesla will not affect the performance of your car.

White interior is purely about aesthetics so you have to decide for yourself if you like the look of a white interior or not.

If you are very happy with the way the white interior on a Tesla looks, then you have got to consider the price for this color swap and if it is really worth your money.

That $1,000 could be better spent modifying your car elsewhere to help improve its driving performance or to bag yourself extra features that Tesla offers.

Also, white interiors are notorious for being dirty; they can look dirty after just a bit of wear.

Even if it’s just a few crumbs and hairs, dirt and debris is way more noticeable on a white interior so even if it looks attractive, it might not stay that way for long.

Wear and tear can reduce the appearance of your interior and stains will be more visible on the white synthetic leather of a Tesla interior.

For all these reasons, we would not personally go with a white interior. The price is too steep for such a small change, and there are more practical disadvantages than there are positives.

Although we must admit that a white interior is very attractive on a car, it is just not worth all the extra cleaning and the added $1,000 to your total cost of your Tesla.

So, for these reasons, we would personally stick with a darker interior option.

Perhaps if Tesla reduced the price, we would consider it – after all, those white seats look very nice. They’re just not $1,000-nice.

So – if you are considering getting a white interior Tesla, consider the points above and really think about this choice. It is completely up to you but remember – the last thing you want to do is regret a decision when it comes to your Tesla.
